A couple of holiday tips for kids

So school is finally finished for the year and fingers crossed any holidays booked won’t be cast aside thanks to cancelled flights or covid! I’m thankful that we managed to sneak away to Crete in the half term, however, must admit it would be lovely to have something to look forward to.

Anyway, while away there were a few purchases and a few tips for the children that I thought may be useful to share:

You can’t beat a decent pair of flip flops to chuck on as you head to the beach or wander down to the pool. I love Havaianas, and their kids ranges have lovely springy soles and some great designs that every kid will love. While my son had a big dilemma choosing between everything from Pokémon to Marvel, it was Minecraft that won him over in the end

To keep the kids entertained in the pool we found it cheaper to buy our inflatables at home, rather than while we were there. We got a couple of these doughnuts from Asda for only £6 each, but you can order them online from numerous outlets, and they were easily packed in the front pocket of the suitcase.

Sun cream! With kids in and out of the pool all day long I’m paranoid about them getting burnt. So, I absolutely loved the Boots Soltan 3 hour Protect & Swim 50+, we got through a couple of bottles while away for 2 weeks. They also have an 8 hour Protect & Play 50+ option.

A couple of entertainment tips… we bought my son a small high bounce ball to play with which entertained him for hours! We also filled up some small plastic bottles with water and they made excellent sinkers for the kids to dive down and retrieve. Vary the water levels to vary the difficulty, so simple but a huge hit.

My final recommendation must be of course, our hooded towels, they travel well and are very handy for end of the day shower time :-)
